A good minimalist packing list covers the basics for comfort, hygiene, and flexibility—without “just in case” extras. The goal is to pack pieces that mix and match, work in multiple settings, and dry quickly so you can re-wear items and do a small load of laundry if needed.
Start with a small capsule: 4–5 tops, 2 bottoms (one can be a lightweight pant/jean), 1 layering piece (sweater or fleece), 1 packable jacket or rain shell, 1 nicer outfit option (or a dress/button-down), 5–7 underwear, 4–6 socks, and 1 sleep set. If you’ll be active, add 1 workout set that can double as loungewear.
Keep it to two pairs: one all-day walking shoe and one lighter “second shoe” (sandals, flats, or slip-ons). Wear the bulkier pair in transit to save space.
Pack only what you’ll use daily: toothbrush/paste, deodorant, small moisturizer, sunscreen, and a minimal hair setup. Solid toiletries (bar soap, shampoo bar) reduce leaks and can simplify airport rules.
Bring your phone, charger, and one compact power bank. Add earbuds, a universal adapter if needed, and a slim document wallet with ID/passport, cards, and insurance info. A reusable water bottle and a foldable tote can replace multiple single-use items.
One packing cube for clothes and a small pouch for cables/toiletries keeps everything easy to find. If you’re unsure what to cut, remove one “backup” item from each category and rely on layering.

Build a 3–4 outfit capsule and plan to re-wear items by rotating tops and layers. Pack for 5 days, not 7, and do a quick sink wash or one small laundry load if needed.
